Class Description

The nice fields and parks of Schöneiche as well as the old church and other places give a broad choice of subjects.

All paintings will be done with oil paint on hardboard. This class will include brush work as well as painting with the knife.

Class Description

Participants choose their own subjects, either by bringing photographs with them either from the huge amount of photographs Max Skoblinski brings with him. Subjects could be landscape, seascape, still life, animal, figure, portrait.

Max explains how many days would be necessary for the choosen subject (1 day, 2 days or even more). He keeps as well the right to reject subjects, which he judges as too complicated for the workshop!

All paintings will be done with oil paint on canvas. This class will include brush work as well as painting with the knife.

This 3 week landscape painting program of Max Skoblinsky is designed to teach students techniques of landscape painting with oils in a manner, that they will be able to compose their own landscapes and  with help of the learned “artifices” bring creativity and originality with their painting.

The students will learn how to experiment and eventually make the crossover from copying  to painting their own masterpieces.

Dedication, self-expression, achievements, aspirations to creativity of each student are the main achievements of the ARTIST!

Class Description

During this week 3 paintings will be painted using the painters knife as well as brushes.

The main focus during this week is on the right handling of colors :

  • color-contrasts, their meaning and possibilities of helpful use
  • saturation, meaning and effect in landscape painting
  • thickness and intensity of colors
  • brightness degrees of different colors
  • diffusion of color and color transition .
